Opinion

”Cardboard houses, castles, rockets, and vehicles awaken in children very positive associations with the world of fairy tales, fantasy, and dreams. Children build them themselves from scratch, which develops their imagination and spatial thinking, fine motor skills, as well as their sense of self-worth and agency. The next stage of play is decorating their own construction, which in turn stimulates imagination, spatial planning, and graphomotor skills. Finally, there comes shared imaginative or imitative play. When children play alone, they develop their creativity; when they play in a group, they practice interpersonal skills. It is worth emphasizing that these toys are a unique alternative that integrates generations of children. Playing with them gives the same great joy to both a two-year-old and a ten-year-old.”
